The Sai Teachings

Our Ideals in Life should be

Your mind, destiny, position, and wealth are gifts of God. You must use it to develop the qualities of equality, solidarity, integrity, and amity. But people today have changed their mind into a wicked mindIt is your mind that makes you a good or bad person. Improper use of mind will make you egoistic.

Modern youth and students aspire for wealth, friendship, and high position but not virtues, and indulge in ostentation. Many students waste their time in bad company, bad thoughts, and bad behaviour. Brass and gold, both look alike. But a vessel of brass makes much more noise than one made of gold. Students should not indulge in showmanship and tall talk.

Always talk sweetly and softly, with humility. You cannot always oblige, but you can always speak obligingly. Always talk lovingly and respectfully, and conduct yourself fittingly as an ideal devotee, an ideal student.

The Sai Teachings

True Realization

When you become conscious of the light, acquire wisdom and realise the meaning of existence, you will be transported from agony to ecstasy. Light here does not signify the light of the Sun, the Moon or the lamp, but that of the heart. Wisdom does not refer to scientific wisdom, but enlightenment brought about by the transformation of the heart. What about existence? Awareness of your own true reality is the proper meaning of existence.

The awareness of your reality lies in the realisation that you are not the body, the mind or the senses. True realisation lies in understanding the fact that you are based on a transcendental principle that goes beyond the boundaries of matter. One should earnestly investigate the presence of Divinity in human life. Awareness of one’s own duty is tantamount to the awareness of Divinity in human life.

The Sai Teachings

Add value to your life

Everyone must face the consequences of their misdeeds, one day or other, because every action has a reaction, resound and reflection. The awareness of this fact on the part of one and all will bring abundant peace and harmony. Human beings are endowed with endless strength. Your body is indeed a massive generator. Your face is like a television-set, with vivid expressions.

But human beings have lost their value in the world today. It is human beings who lend value to a diamond. It is a human being who unearths a raw stone and turns it into a priceless diamond after processing and polishing it. Though people have been able to transform a cheap raw stone into an invaluable diamond, they themselves choose to have no intrinsic value in spite of contributing much to the value-addition of the diamond.

The Sai Teachings

GOOD QUALITIES VERSUS EVIL QUALITIES

The real contest today within you is the one between the evil qualities of desire, hatred, envy, pride, etc. and good qualities like truth, virtue, peace, nonviolence and love. Your body is the battlefield.

One team’s captain is the embodiment of good qualities. The captain of the other is the embodiment of mundane desires. Those who adhere to ever changing and worldly desires will attain defeat. Only those who attach themselves to the unchanging and eternal Divine can hope for enduring success in life.

In money, scholarship, knowledge and intelligence, there is no evil. Evil arises only from the activities you carry out using them.

The Sai Teachings

Live in Truth

Always love and follow only truth; falsehood is never beneficial. Some people may respect, but you will find that no one honours falsehood, deceit, and injustice all the time. On the contrary, everyone respects truth, honesty, integrity, and justice. Who is a divine person? It is just a name for the person who observes truth as their vow in daily living. The right conduct as prescribed in the scriptures (Vedas) is tested, proven and capable of standing the test of time. It is impartial and just. Faith in it grows with practice.
The worship of the Divine must follow the rules prescribed in the Scriptures; through this means, people get strengthened in leading a righteous life. This “righteousness” is the command of the Lord; it is the authentic voice of God, so it might as well be followed, bringing goodness to all; it confers bliss, here and hereafter

The Sai Teachings

EXPANSION

Expansion is the keynote of education. The first step for this expansion is the home, where you must revere and please your parents who gave you this chance to live and learn. If you ill-treat them or inflict grief on their minds, how can you ever gladden others by service and understanding? You know that when a balloon is blown, it bursts and the air inside it merges with the vast limitless expanse outside. So too your love must fill your home and your society, and finally burst even those bonds and become worldwide. A drop of water held in the palm evaporates soon; it is very solitary. But drop it into the sea - it survives! It assumes the name, the majesty and the might of a sea! Cultivate the seeds of love in all hearts!

The Sai Teachings

Your Happiness…

Good and bad, wealth and poverty, praise and blame go together in this world. You cannot derive happiness out of happinessHappiness comes only out of sorrow. A wealthy man today may become a pauper tomorrow. Similarly, a pauper may become a rich man some day or other. Today you are being praised, but tomorrow you may be criticised. To consider praise and blame, happiness and sorrow, prosperity and adversity with equal-mindedness is the hallmark of a true human being.

The Hindu scriptures, the Gita, declares,

“Remain equal-minded in happiness and sorrow, gain and loss, victory and defeat”. You can truly enjoy your life as a human being only when you consider both sorrow and happiness, profit and loss with equanimity. There is no value for happiness without sorrow. Therefore, welcome sorrow if you want to experience real happiness.
